Howling Wind

I hear the wind howling my name,

my presence it tries to discover,

beating against the window frame.

I shiver, pull up the cover,

hiding from the deadly dark outside;

my presence it tries to discover.

Too many people now have died,

left all alone, clinging onto hope,

hiding from the deadly dark outside.

I clench my teeth as I try to cope,

chilled to the core, life slipping away,

left all alone, clinging onto hope.

Unsure of how long I can stay,

I know Death is calling out to me,

chilled to the core, life slipping away.

A homeless girl, I’m nobody.

I hear the wind howling my name,

I know Death is calling out to me,

beating against the window frame.
