Don’t Lie in Wait for Fate

Today is the start of the rest of your life.

Live every day as if it were your last.

Don’t regret your past.

Live for the future.

 *

Live every day as if it were your last.

You never know what may come to pass,

don’t wait for a tomorrow that may never come.

 *

Don’t regret your past.

Learn from your mistakes,

for they made you who you are.

 *

Live for the future.

Aspire to be great,

don’t lie in wait.

  1. Wrote a poem using this quote as prompt “Death may be the greatest of all human blessings.” ~ Socrates

    I used the Trimeric form:

The poem consists of four stanzas

The first stanza has 4 lines

The following three stanzas consist of only 3 lines

There is no required syllabic structure

    Nor is rhyme required

The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th lines of the first stanza are refrains that appear in the first lines of the following stanzas

The 1st stanza’s 2nd line is the 1st line of the 2nd stanza

The 1st stanza’s 3rd line is the 1st line of the 3rd stanza

The 1st stanza’s 4th line is the 1st line of the 4th stanza
