Nature’s a Giver

Can you feel there’s a chill in the air?

Summer over, the trees start to shiver.

Fragile leaves lose their grip and float to the ground

Where they curl in on themselves and start to whither.

*

The branches that shiver are left bare,

look to the ground and see how it differs.

Painted in yellows, reds, oranges and browns,

bedding for small animals does it deliver.

*

Autumn, a time of colour and flair,

all year round nature is such a giver.

Survival isn’t easy, but can be found

provided you stay far away from the river.
