Halloween and Nature

This is a follow up to my Quinzaines post. The competition required a poem that was about nature and had the prompt of halloween. I have come up with a few ideas but I can only enter one of them, so if you could let me know which one you think I should enter that would be great!

The wind whistles through the leaves.

But is it wind or

are they screams?

The leaves burn red come autumn.

Will their thick cover

hide the blood?

The crackle of autumn leaves.

To help you hear what

you can’t see?

Small animals hide and sleep.

Are they afraid to

meet the beast?

What do you think?
